Sonoma fulfills our city’s need for an approachable wine bar with a sophisticated wine list, friendly service and inviting ambiance. Wine is meant to be enjoyed and shared and is an integral part of setting the table. Our team of wine-lovers serve the most delicious wine-friendly food – with ingredients and free range meats sourced from local purveyors – and proudly pour wines from family-owned wineries and grower winemakers alongside our kitchen creations. Our employees are hired for their passion and eagerness in continuing to grow in the wine hospitality industry.
Sonoma Wine Bar is a small business with a big heart. We’re approaching our eleventh year of service this February at our first location on Richmond Avenue and have reached the five-year mark at our Heights location in August of 2017.
We are a growing company with a humble vision of serving and supporting our local communities, sharing on average 5 percent of our net profits to various charities and fundraisers throughout the Houston area.

This wine bar was a dream turned reality — our business motto is to always love what we do, work hard, continue to improve our skill and share as much wine as possible.
Twelve years ago, a determined Farrah started taking the steps to pursue her dream of owning a wine bar. After having worked in all aspects of the hospitality industry from front-of-house service to sales and distribution all across the US, she came home to Houston and was resolute on creating a successful wine bar concept that was also a positive workplace where people love what they do and do it proudly. Today her vision exists as Sonoma -- a wine bar that is as sophisticated as it is comfortable and warm. Farrah fits in the roles of mother and wife in between being a hands-on owner and getting dirty with any and all projects big or small. Farrah travels frequently to different wine growing regions, which inspire her wine list selections and food menu creations.
Matt’s mother will have you know that his calling as a chef came at the early age of 6. Hobbling on a broken leg into the kitchen, he asked if he could make himself breakfast (as he was just plain tired of eating cold cereal) and to her surprise cooked a proper scrambled egg. We’re grateful that Matt continued to pursue his dream of being a chef and went on to get his associate’s degree of applied science in culinary arts from the Art Institute. Matt brings an attention to detail and has high standards for the quality of the food that comes out of the kitchens at both stores.
Madison's background is in wedding planning. Just in her first few months at Sonoma, she's received rave reviews from event hosts and their guests. We're excited to have Madison as part of Team Sonoma!
